How’s that for a pile of books?
And how would you like to win some of them?
The sun is out, so are the daffodils, and next week the clocks go forward. Spring fever has reached the Adlard Coles Nautical office, and we’re having a giveaway.
Up for grabs are books from across the entire Adlard Coles list, from old favourites to new releases, practical sailing books to funny bunkside reads. Everything’s there, from Brendan Hall’s inspirational and gripping Team Spirit to perennial favourite Celestial Navigation for Yachtsmen by Mary Blewitt.
We’re going to be giving away at least one of these books every day until they’re gone.
To be in with a chance, we want you to tell us, in a sentence, your favourite place to sail to, and why.
Simple. The best, most interesting, most unique, funniest, etc, etc will get a book. And to begin with, we’ll let the first few winners pick which book they want from the pile.
You can enter in a variety of ways:
– Leave your comment here
– Post a comment on our Facebook page
– Tweet your answer @ReedsNautical (and please retweet the competition!)
We reserve the right to reproduce the winning entries on social media.
For the first time ever here at Adlard Coles Nautical we are letting you the readers pick the title of a forthcoming book by author Justin Tyers. This is a sequel to his fantastic book Phoenix from the Ashes.
To pick your favourite title, simply visit the Adlard Coles Nautical Facebook page and select the like button on the title of your choice. The title with the most likes will be the winner.
All entries will be placed in a free prize draw and a winner will be selected at random, for the chance to win £100 worth of Adlard Coles Nautical books.
Competition ends 28th February 2014

Check out this fantastic Waterstones competition for She Rises by debut novelist Kate Worsley, published last week, the book is set against the backdrop of life on the tall ships of the royal navy of the 18th century.
To celebrate the publication of this new book Waterstones are running a ship-shape competition to win a ‘taster voyage’ for two, courtesy of Tall Ships Youth Trust, on board the 200ft Magnificent Tall Ship, Stavros S Niarchos!
To enter, simply visit the Waterstones Facebook page and share their album and post your favourite picture of a boat or naval vessel on their wall. It could be a painting of the HMS Victory, a sea-scape by an old master, or your very own boat. Be quick as this great competition closes today at 3pm.
